Baseball Recap: Decatur Snags Ninth Victory in Last 11 Games

Decatur barely beat Springtown the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Eagles never let the Porcupines get on the board and left with a 10-0 victory on Saturday. The Eagles might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 12 games by six runs or more this season.

The team relied heavily on James Mahoney, who went 1-for-2 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Decatur is 6-1 when Mahoney posts two or more runs, but 11-14-1 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Brody Kelley, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI and one run.

Decatur has been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 17-15-1 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.2 runs over those games. As for Springtown, their defeat dropped their record down to 16-10-1.

As of now, neither Decatur nor the Porcupines have any future games scheduled.
