Recap: Patterson Institute Lions vs. Van Horn Eagles
This season hasn't been kind to the Patterson Institute Lions, who are still winless after their sixth matchup. They fell 28-16 to Van Horn on Saturday. Patterson Institute lost against Van Horn in their previous head to head back in December of 2021, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 43-5 score last time.
Gio Corralez was the offensive standout of the match as he scored 10 points along with 3 steals. The match was his fifth in a row with at least ten points.
Patterson Institute's defeat dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Van Horn, the victory got them back to even at 3-3.
Patterson Institute will be playing at home against Job Corps at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Van Horn is on the road again on Saturday and play against Fort Hancock at 1:30 p.m. on December 2nd. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Texas (Fort Hancock is ranked 802nd, while Van Horn is ranked 797th).
