Basketball Game Preview: Riverdale Raiders vs. Stone Mountain Pirates

The Riverdale Raiders will square off against the Stone Mountain Pirates at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.

Riverdale is headed into the game out to prove that what happened against North Clayton on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Riverdale was beaten by North Clayton 63-21. The Raiders have struggled against the Eagles recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

Meanwhile, Stone Mountain sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 35-33 victory over Redan on Saturday.

Riverdale better keep an eye on Makayla Wilson. She was instrumental in Stone Mountain's win, putting up 20 points. Another player making a difference was Saniya Tayor, who posted nine points.

Riverdale's defeat dropped their record down to 4-20. As for Stone Mountain, their win ended a six-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-16.

Riverdale beat Stone Mountain 43-32 in their previous matchup last Friday. Does Riverdale have another victory up their sleeve, or will Stone Mountain turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
