Softball Recap: Shawnee Takes a Loss

Shawnee had lost five straight on the road, but on Thursday they dropped their record down to 1-6 to make it six. They came up short against the Burlington Township Falcons, falling 15-5. If the Renegades were looking for revenge after losing 4-1 to the Falcons when the teams met back in April of 2023, then they'll just have to keep looking.

As for Burlington Township, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season. While they didn't have the best season last year (they finished 7-14), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

For Burlington Township's part, the team relied heavily on Karisa Krawiec, who went 3-for-5 with four runs and two stolen bases. Trista Davis was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three runs and one RBI.

Shawnee and Burlington Township could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps New Jersey Rankings. The Renegades will take on Rancocas Valley at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday with a big rank disadvantage (261 vs. 51). Meanwhile, Burlington Township (ranked 61st) will meet Bordentown (ranked 20th) at 10:00 a.m. on Monday.
