Baseball Recap: Dyer County Takes a Loss

Thursday just wasn't the day for Dyer County's offense. They fell just short of the Collierville Dragons by a score of 1-0 on Thursday. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last seven times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Landon Willis was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out nine batters over six innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in March of 2024.

Dyer County's loss dropped their record down to 5-5-1. As for Collierville, the win keeps them at an undefeated 12-0.

Looking ahead, Dyer County will be taking part in a tournament against Arlington at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Collierville, they will be playing in front of their home fans against South Gibson at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. South Gibson is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.3 runs per game this season.
