The Washington Patriots and the Petersburg Vikings are set to duel on Saturday. Washington has now lost seven straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since September 14.
On Thursday, Washington didn't have quite enough to beat East Hardy and fell 3-2.
Washington took East Hardy into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking four-point loss. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 19-25, 25-19, 21-25, 25-15, 15-11.
Lauren Spitzer put forth a good effort for the losing side as she had 20 digs.
Meanwhile, Petersburg was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They lost 3-0 to Pendleton County.
While Petersburg was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the first set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 25-17, 25-17.
Washington's record is now 2-16-1. As for Petersburg, their record is now 1-6.
