Dallas is 8-2 against West Albany since April of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Dragons will face off against the Bulldogs at 5:00 p.m. Dallas' pitching crew has only allowed 3.3 runs per game this season, so West Albany's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
Dallas' pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Wednesday. They were the clear victors by an 11-0 margin over Corvallis. The game marked the Dragons' most dominant win of the season so far.

Madi Ruman was a major factor no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out ten over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. That home run marked the first that she launched this season.
In other batting news, Dallas let Ruby Halligan and Kadence Tullock run wild. Halligan scored a run while going 3-for-4, while Tullock scored three runs while going 1-for-2. That's the most hits Halligan has posted since back in March. Ava Woods was another key player, scoring two runs while getting on base in two of her three plate appearances.
Dallas was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .417. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Corvallis only posted a batting average of .125.
Meanwhile, West Albany fell victim to Silverton and their airtight pitching crew on Wednesday. They took a 4-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Foxes. The defeat continues a trend for the Bulldogs in their meetings with the Foxes: they've now lost three in a row.
Dallas is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.8 runs over those games. As for West Albany, their loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 3-8.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Friday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Dallas has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8.4 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like West Albany struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 7.1 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Dallas skirted past West Albany 1-0 when the teams last played back in May of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Dragons since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
