You're bound to get a positive result if you outscore your opponent every quarter and that's exactly how it played out for Airline on Friday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that they blew the Byrd Yellow Jackets out of the water with a 48-17 final score. The result was nothing new for the Vikings, who have now won four matchups by 20 points or more so far this season.

Leading Airline to victory were Chris Hart and Kenny Darby. Hart rushed for 45 yards and two scores, while Darby gained 104 total yards and two touchdowns. Those two rushing touchdowns gave Hart a new career-high. Chase Williams was another key player, having thrown for 253 yards.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Airline was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 245 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 161 rushing yards in five consecutive contests.

Special teams also played a big role in the game for Airline, adding 12 points to the final score. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Darby, who ran a kickoff back for a touchdown.

When it comes to explaining why Byrd lost, don't look at Christian Maxie. Despite the final result, he rushed for 197 yards and a pair of touchdowns while picking up 9.0 yards per carry. Maxie's rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his fourth straight game with at least 150 rushing yards.

Airline's victory bumped their record up to 6-3. As for Byrd, their defeat was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-7.

Airline didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 34-27 win against Huntington on the 6th. As for Byrd, they have also already played their next matchup, a 35-27 loss against Captain Shreve on the 6th.
