Basketball Recap: Southwest Florida Christian Takes a Loss

Southwest Florida Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a blow against the Neumann Celtics, falling 56-10. The King's were not able to make up for their defeat to the Celtics from their previous meeting back in January of 2024.

Neumann's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Mylee Van De Wouw, who went 7 for 12 on her way to 14 points in addition to eight boards and five steals. Van De Wouw is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last three games she's played. Maddy Donahue was another key player, going 7 of 11 en route to 14 points along with seven boards and three steals.

Southwest Florida Christian's loss dropped their record down to 4-12. As for Neumann, they have been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 12 games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-9 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Southwest Florida Christian will head out to square off against Donahue Catholic at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Neumann, they will head out on the road to take on Bishop Verot at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Neumann comes in on nine and Bishop Verot on three.
