Baseball Recap: Trinity Presbyterian Has No Trouble Against Alabama Christian Academy

After losing to Alabama Christian Academy the last time they met, Trinity Presbyterian decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Trinity Presbyterian Wildcats walked away with an 8-3 victory over the Alabama Christian Academy Eagles on Friday. That five run margin sets a new team best for the Wildcats this season.

Patton Mitchell and Fleming Hall made a big impact no matter where they played. Throwing, Mitchell tossed three innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Meanwhile, Hall tossed four innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits. Trinity Presbyterian is 2-1 when Mitchell allowsone or fewer earned runs, but 2-4 otherwise. At bat, Mitchell scored a run while going 3-for-4, while Hall scored two runs and stole Two bases. while going 3-for-4. That's the most hits Hall has posted since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, Cooper Bernier was excellent, scoring a run and stealing Two bases. while going 2-for-4. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in April of 2024. Lucas Snyder also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

The win made it two in a row for Trinity Presbyterian and bumps their season record up to 4-5. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.5 runs over those games. As for Alabama Christian Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 5-5.

Coming up, a feisty cat fight will be fought as Trinity Presbyterian Wildcats take on Prattville Lions at 1:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Alabama Christian Academy, they are taking a road trip to face off against Horseshoe Bend at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday.
