Football Game Preview: Forest Bearcats vs. Raleigh Lions

The Forest Bearcats are taking a road trip to take on the Raleigh Lions at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Raleigh will square off against a team with plenty of momentum: Forest extended their winning streak to four on Friday. The Bearcats came out on top against Mendenhall by a score of 37-26. The Bearcats pushed the score to 37-6 by the end of the third, a deficit the Tigers cut but never quite recovered from.

Latrell Pace had an outrageously good game as he rushed for 115 yards and two scores. Shamar Evans was in the mix as well, providing Forest with one TD.

Forest didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off five passes before the game was over. Xavion Kincaid led the group effort, picking up two of those interceptions all by himself. Cameron Eirby is also crushing it when it comes to total tackles: he's made at least five every time he's taken the field this season. Forest received some extra help from Evans, whose fumble return for a touchdown made for one of the most unforgettable moments.

Meanwhile, Raleigh never let their opponents score on Friday. They claimed a resounding 57-0 win over McLaurin. The Lions haven't had any issues with the Tigers recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive victory against them.

Forest's record is now 5-1. As for Raleigh, their record now sits at an identical 5-1.

Forest suffered a grim 50-28 defeat to Raleigh in their previous meeting back in November of 2020. Can the Bearcats avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
