Volleyball Recap: George Ranch Comes Up Short on the Road Against Clear Lake

George Ranch had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They fell just short of the Clear Lake Falcons by a score of 3-2 on Tuesday. While the Longhorns didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Falcons 25-19 in the first set.

George Ranch wouldn't go down easily and took Clear Lake into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking seven-point loss. The match finished with set scores of 19-25, 25-14, 25-19, 22-25, 15-8.

Madelynn Coy paced George Ranch's offense, picking up 24 kills. Coy got some help from Ava Campbell and her 30 assists. Coy was also solid from the service line: she led the team with four aces.

George Ranch will square off against McKinney on Thursday. As for Clear Lake, they will welcome Paetow at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
