Football Recap: Celebration Comes Up Short

Celebration extended their losing streak to five on Friday, dropping them down to 0-5. They took a blow against the East Ridge Knights, falling 48-7. While losing is never fun, the Storm can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida football rankings (they are ranked 444th, while the Knights are ranked 102nd).

Landen Yaw threw for 111 yards and one TD. Cameron Bizzack was his top target, picking up 44 receiving yards and one score. On the ground, Jayden Rodriguez rushed for 54 yards.

As for East Ridge, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 6-0. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five games by 37 points or more this season.

East Ridge's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Lamar Garrison led the charge by picking up 109 receiving yards and three touchdowns. Another signal caller making a difference was Karon Palmer Jr, who threw for 204 yards and three TDs on only 16 passes.

Celebration wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 24-6 win against Liberty on the 3rd. As for East Ridge, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Dr. Phillips at 7:00 p.m. on the 10th. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Knights 7.5, the Panthers 13.3) so any points scored will be well earned.
