Football Recap: Celebration Takes a Loss

Celebration extended their losing streak to five on Friday, dropping them down to 0-5. They took a blow against the East Ridge Knights, falling 48-7. While losing is never fun, the Storm can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida football rankings (they are ranked 462nd, while the Knights are ranked 110th).

When it comes to explaining why Celebration lost, don't look at Cameron Bizzack. Despite the final result, he picked up 68 receiving yards and one touchdown.

As for East Ridge, they pushed their record up to 6-0 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 3.3 points on average over those games.

East Ridge got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Lamar Garrison out in front who picked up 109 receiving yards and three TDs. The Knights also got a significant boost from Daryl Ellis, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 81 yards.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Celebration will host Liberty at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for East Ridge, after each having a week off, they and Dr. Phillips will shake off the cobwebs and hit the field against one another at 7:00 p.m. on October 10. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Knights 7.5, the Panthers 13.3) so any points scored will be well earned.
