Baseball Recap: Triton Central Has No Trouble Against Indianapolis Scecina Memorial

Triton Central never let their opponents score on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Indianapolis Scecina Memorial Crusaders with a sharp 12-0 win. The Tigers have beaten the Crusaders the last five times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Crusaders has come to flipping the script.

Bryce Haney was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out nine over five innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. That triple marked the first that he has hit this season.

In other batting news, Janssen Capps was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Nick Riggins was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

Triton Central was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .407. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .357 or higher in four consecutive matches.

Triton Central's record now sits at 6-2. As for Indianapolis Scecina Memorial, their loss dropped their record down to 3-6.
