Baseball Recap: Mattawan Beats Lakeshore for Their Third Straight Win

Mattawan won the last time they faced Lakeshore and things went their way on Thursday too. The Wildcats came out on top against the Lancers by a score of 4-1. The victory was familiar territory for the Wildcats, who have now won three contests in a row.

Liam Walsh spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on five hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up a single earned run in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Patrick Dougherty was excellent, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run and one RBI. Kaden Jominy also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Mattawan's record is now 7-1-3. As for Lakeshore, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 6-1.

Mattawan will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Lancers: the pair will be back at it again later today.
