Volleyball Recap: Wayne Badgers vs. Altamont Longhorns
If Wayne was riding high fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Tintic on Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Wayne Badgers fell just short of the Altamont Longhorns by a score of 3-2 on Saturday. The Badgers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Longhorns apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in October of 2023.
Wayne actually scored more points across those five sets (102-101), but sadly they still had to settle for second. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 15-25, 25-23, 25-17, 21-25, 15-12.
Wayne's loss dropped their record down to 9-11. As for Altamont, they moved to 7-16 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Wayne is on the road again on Tuesday to play Piute at 7:00 p.m. As for Altamont, they will venture away from home to take on Tabiona at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Someone's luck will take a turn for the better: Tabiona has lost three straight at home , while Altamont has lost five on the road.
