Bishop O'Connell put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. They blew past the Nansemond-Suffolk Academy Saints 11-3. That's more bragging rights for the Knights, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Bishop O'Connell got a massive performance out of Ari Clark, who fired off two home runs and five RBI while going 3-for-3. The dominant performance also gave Clark a new career-high in runs (two). Another player making a difference was MJ Melvin, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three runs, and one triple.

Bishop O'Connell was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .545. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .318 or higher in eight consecutive games dating back to last season.

Bishop O'Connell's win bumped their record up to 5-0. As for Nansemond-Suffolk Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 3-3.

Looking ahead, Bishop O'Connell will challenge Paul VI at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Bishop O'Connell is facing Paul VI at the right time seeing as Paul VI is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Nansemond-Suffolk Academy, they will take on Christchurch School at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Christchurch School has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 13.4 runs per game on average), something Nansemond-Suffolk Academy will no doubt try to take advantage of.
