Basketball Recap: Austin Crider's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Eaton over Sterling

Eaton fought the good fight in their overtime game against Sterling on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took a 68-63 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Sterling Tigers. The Reds haven't had much luck with the Tigers recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.

Several Reds players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Austin Crider, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 11 boards. Those 18 points gave Crider a new career-high. Noah Sprinkle was another key player, going 7 for 12 en route to 17 points and seven rebounds.

Eaton now has a losing record at 5-6. As for Sterling, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-4.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Eaton will face off against University at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. University is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 69 points per game this season. As for Sterling, they will take on Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
