Basketball Recap: Shorewood Takes a Loss

Shorewood was the 49-44 winner over Shorecrest when they last played one another back in December of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Shorewood Stormrays were just a bucket shy of victory on Saturday and fell 66-65 to the Shorecrest Scots. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Thursday (56), the Stormrays still had to take the loss.

Shorewood is on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-12. As for Shorecrest, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-7.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Shorewood will welcome Mountlake Terrace at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Shorewood has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Shorecrest, they will be playing at home against Edmonds-Woodway at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Shorecrest knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past four matches -- so hopefully Edmonds-Woodway likes a good challenge.
