Softball Game Preview: Encinal Jets vs. Alameda Hornets

Encinal is 1-9 against Alameda since April of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Jets will look to defend their home field against the Hornets at 4:00 p.m. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

Encinal is headed into Friday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Wednesday. They lost 8-2 to Bishop O'Dowd.

Encinal saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sonia Walker, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI.

Meanwhile, Alameda didn't have quite enough to beat Castro Valley on Tuesday and fell 3-2.

Aaliyah Soderlund was cooking despite her team's loss, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with two RBI.

Alameda's defeat dropped their record down to 13-9-1. As for Encinal, their loss dropped their record down to 7-15.
