South Johnston proved they can win big last Friday (they won by eight) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged out the Hunt Warriors 2-1. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Trojans also won the last time the pair played back in April of 2024.

South Johnston has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.4 runs over those games. Hunt's defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-4.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. South Johnston is set to take on their familiar foe East Wake at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Hunt will square off against rival West Johnston at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (Hunt has won three straight at home, while West Johnston won three straight on the road), something that'll have to change.
