Volleyball Recap: Foothill Takes a Loss

Foothill saw some tournament action on Saturday. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the San Dieguito Academy Mustangs. The shutout was out of character for the Knights seeing as the last time the team failed to score was back in August.

San Dieguito Academy was led to victory by Molly McCarren and Ellie Burr. McCarren had 11 digs and six aces, while Burr had 21 digs. Burr has been hot for a while, having posted 13 or more digs the last ten times she's played. Skyler Wessel was another key player, getting 11 digs.

This is the second loss in a row for Foothill and nudges their season record down to 21-8. As for San Dieguito Academy, the victory snapped their losing streak at five matches and leaves them with a 8-19-1 record.

Looking ahead, Foothill will head out on the road to square off against Crean Lutheran at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for San Dieguito Academy, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-0 loss against Flagstaff on the 11th.
