Baseball Game Preview: Heritage Pride vs. Sherando Warriors

The Heritage Pride will face off against the Sherando Warriors at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

Heritage is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 17 runs on Monday, they were much more limited against Stone Bridge on Tuesday. They took a 7-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bulldogs.

Heritage got a good showing from Sam Walsh, who struck out six batters over 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Walsh has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one hit in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Heritage saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Aaron Van Tuyle, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Meanwhile, Sherando posted their closest victory since May 13, 2024 on Wednesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-3 win over Warren County. The Warriors haven't had any issues with the Wildcats recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive victory against them.

Sherando's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 6-3. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Heritage, their loss dropped their record down to 3-7.

Heritage skirted past Sherando 2-0 in their previous matchup back in April of 2015. Will the Pride repeat their success, or do the Warriors have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
