Basketball Recap: Wednesday's Victory Is Westside's 13th in Last 16 Outings

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Westside had no problem doing just that on Wednesday. They came out on top against the North Murray Mountaineers by a score of 44-31. Given the Seminoles' advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 182nd, while the Mountaineers are ranked 376th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Joshua Harden continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double with 22 points and 17 boards. He has become a key player for Westside: the team is 14-3 when he posts at least eight rebounds, but 4-6 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Christian Little, who posted ten points and three steals.

Westside is on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 16 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 18-9 record this season. As for North Murray, they now have a losing record of 13-14.

Coming up, Westside is taking a road trip to square off against Union County at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. One thing working in Union County's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last 20 games. North Murray does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
