Football Recap: Lynn Camp Wildcats vs. Knott County Central Patriots
After flying high against Berea last Friday, Lynn Camp came back down to earth. The Lynn Camp Wildcats lost to the Knott County Central Patriots on the road by a 35-18 margin on Friday. The Wildcats were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Patriots apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in September of 2023.
Knott County Central was led to victory by Brycen Everage and Gage Short. Everage rushed for 68 yards and three touchdowns, while Short threw for 118 yards and two touchdowns on only ten passes. Shane Gibson was Short's top target, picking up 46 receiving yards and a touchdown, while also rushing for 32 yards.
Having lost for the first time this season, Lynn Camp fell to 2-1. As for Knott County Central, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 3-0.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lynn Camp will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Jackson County at 7:00 p.m. on September 20th. As for Knott County Central, they will take on Betsy Layne at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
