Baseball Game Preview: South Davidson Wildcats vs. West Davidson Dragons

South Davidson is 0-10 against West Davidson since April of 2018 but things could change on Tuesday. The Wildcats will look to defend their home field against the Dragons at 6:00 p.m. South Davidson has given up an average of 13.4 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

South Davidson is headed into Tuesday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their sixth straight game on Wednesday. They came up short against East Davidson, falling 22-3.

Meanwhile, West Davidson had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 17 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Wednesday. They never let the Cavaliers get on the board and left with a 17-0 win. The result was nothing new for the Dragons, who have now won eight contests by six runs or more so far this season.

The result came thanks to Asher Jordan's shutout, as he gave up just three hits.

West Davidson's victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-8. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.2 runs over those games. As for South Davidson, their loss dropped their record down to 4-11.

South Davidson suffered a grim 13-0 defeat to West Davidson in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can the Wildcats avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
