With a playoff win on the line, North Yarmouth Academy rose to the challenge on Thursday. They were the clear victors by a 17-2 margin over the Vinalhaven Vikings. The Panthers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 matchups by eight runs or more this season.

The victory was the fourth in a row for North Yarmouth Academy, bringing their record up to 14-3. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for Vinalhaven, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-6.

Coming up, North Yarmouth Academy will square off against St. Dominic on Saturday. The Panthers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Saints have averaged an impressive 10.9 runs per game this season. Vinalhaven does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
