Recap: Northside Eagles vs. Tift County Blue Devils

The Northside Eagles's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fifth straight loss. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 68-67 to Tift County. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.

Several Eagles players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Keron Milton jr., who scored 22 points. Milton jr. continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was Chastan Brown, who scored 13 points along with nine rebounds.

Tift County got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was JJ Lamar out in front who scored 12 points along with two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Lamar has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaden Nelson, who scored ten points.

Northside has not been sharp recently, as they've lost six of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-11 record this season. As for Tift County, their victory bumped their record up to 8-6.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Northside won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Warner Robins at 5:30 p.m. on January 13th. Warner Robins knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past five games -- so hopefully Northside likes a good challenge. Tift County won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Lee County at 7:30 p.m. on January 13th. One thing working in Lee County's favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the court this season.
