Basketball Recap: Skipstone Academy Comes Up Short

Skipstone Academy lost against Flint River Academy back in January of 2015 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The game between the Skipstone Academy Warriors and the Flint River Academy Wildcats didn't end well, with the Skipstone Academy Warriors falling 62-45.

Flint River Academy got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was D. J. Baums out in front who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 16 rebounds. Baums is on a roll when it comes to boards, as he's now pulled down nine or more in the last five games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Cole Riner, who almost dropped a double-double on 16 points and nine boards.

Skipstone Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 4-3. As for Flint River Academy, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-1.

The future could be bright for both Skipstone Academy and Flint River Academy: their next opponents haven't had the best luck recently. Skipstone Academy will try to hand CrossPointe Christian Academy their fourth-straight loss when the two meet at 6:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025. Similarly, Flint River Academy will try to hand Westwood their sixth-straight defeat when the two meet at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
