Basketball Recap: Osborn Takes a Loss

Osborn lost against Nodaway Valley co-op [West Nodaway/Nodaway-Holt] back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Osborn Wildcats took a blow against Nodaway Valley co-op [West Nodaway/Nodaway-Holt], falling 77-18. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 372nd, while Nodaway Valley co-op [West Nodaway/Nodaway-Holt] are ranked 81st).

Osborn's loss was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 3-4. As for Nodaway Valley co-op [West Nodaway/Nodaway-Holt], the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 12-1.

After both having extra time off, Osborn and Mound City will shake off the cobwebs and take on one another at 6:00 p.m. on January 21st. Mound City will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Osborn surely won't give up without a fight. As for Nodaway Valley co-op [West Nodaway/Nodaway-Holt], they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against North Nodaway at 6:00 p.m. on January 21st. Nodaway Valley co-op [West Nodaway/Nodaway-Holt] knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past five games -- so hopefully North Nodaway likes a good challenge.
