Recap: Hill City vs. Stockton

Hill City put the finishing touches on their 3rd blowout victory of the season on Friday. They put a hurting on Stockton to the tune of 51-6. That's another feather in the cap for Hill City, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.

The match started off well for Hill City, whose offense put up 40 first-half points. Stockton countered with 6 points, leaving the score at 40-6 going into the half. Hill City put the game away in the third quarter with 11 points from the offense and zero points allowed from the defense.

Senior Conner Born, who rushed for 124 yards and 2 touchdowns, was a major factor in Hill City's success. Senior Tate Reynolds was in the mix, too, providing Hill City with 2 touchdowns. The contest pushed Stockton down to 2-3 and pulled Hill City up to the reverse at 3-2.

Next week Hill City take on Lincoln at District 7 at 7:00 PM. Unlike Hill City, Lincoln will be limping in after taking a loss. Stockton will look to defend their home turf against Clifton-Clyde.
