Volleyball Recap: Elizabeth Snyder's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Leesburg over Belleview

Leesburg and Belleview squared off in some playoff action on Monday, but Leesburg had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Rattlers by a score of 3-2. The Yellow Jackets were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Rattlers earlier this season, when they won 3-1.

Leesburg wouldn't go down easily and took Belleview into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking two-point loss. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 14-25, 25-11, 25-19, 23-25, 16-14.

Leesburg's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Elizabeth Snyder, who had 23 digs and two aces. Another player making a difference was Ella Prater, who had four digs and three aces.

Belleview can attribute much of their success to Addison Torres, who had 35 assists. That's the most assists Torres has posted over her last five contests.

Leesburg's loss dropped their record down to 9-8. As for Belleview, their win ended a three-match drought on the road and puts them at 6-14.

Leesburg does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Belleview, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-0 defeat against Gainesville on the 14th.
