Volleyball Game Preview: Cretin-Derham Hall Raiders vs. DeLaSalle Islanders + Official Tickets

After both having extra time off, the Cretin-Derham Hall Raiders and the DeLaSalle Islanders will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Cretin-Derham Hall took a loss when they played away from home two weeks ago, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They blew past Roosevelt 3-0.

Meanwhile, DeLaSalle entered their tilt with Highland Park on Friday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They came within a single set of losing the streak, but they secured a 3-2 W against the Scots. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Islanders have posted since October 12, 2024.

If you add up the scores from across all five sets (107-98) DeLaSalle actually scored fewer points, but in the end it didn't matter. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 12-25, 25-21, 18-25, 25-20, 18-16.

Cretin-Derham Hall's win bumped their record up to 21-4. As for DeLaSalle, their victory bumped their record up to 14-4.

Cretin-Derham Hall came out on top in a nail-biter against DeLaSalle when the teams last played back in October of 2023, sneaking past 2-1. Will the Raiders repeat their success, or do the Islanders have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
