Basketball Recap: South Atlanta Takes a Loss

South Atlanta lost against Miller Grove back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The South Atlanta Hornets fell 55-43 to the Miller Grove Wolverines.

Kaeslyn Benjamin had an outrageously good game for Miller Grove as she went 6 of 12 en route to 17 points in addition to six boards and five steals. Benjamin has been hot for a while, having posted two or more steals the last 17 times she's played. McKenzie Ward was another key player, almost dropping a double-double on nine points and ten rebounds.

South Atlanta has been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last nine contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-14 record this season. As for Miller Grove, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 10-5.

South Atlanta will challenge Redan at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. South Atlanta is facing Redan at the right time seeing as Redan is stuck on a six-game losing streak. As for Miller Grove, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Columbia at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Columbia's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last three games.
