Softball Recap: Glendale Prep Academy Snaps Four-Game Streak of Wins on the Road

Glendale Prep Academy dropped their record down to 10-7 on Wednesday, which also ended the team's four-game streak of wins on the road. They lost 16-1 to the Heritage Academy Heroes. Having soared to a lofty 22 runs in the game before, the Griffins couldn't push the score so high this time.

As for Heritage Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 14 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-2 record this season. The team dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 10.2 runs.

For Heritage Academy's part, Amaya LaDrigue and Savana Soltero made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, LaDrigue pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Soltero pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one hit in three consecutive appearances. At the plate, LaDrigue went 1-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI, while Soltero went 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Heritage Academy got a massive performance out of Rowan Asanovich, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. What's more, Asanovich posted two doubles, the most she's had since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Gloriann Blanco, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs.

Looking ahead, Glendale Prep Academy will face off against Northland Prep Academy at 3:00 p.m. on Monday. Heritage Academy has already played their next contest (against ALA - Anthem South), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
