Softball Recap: Lejeune Starts off Right with Win over Northside - Jacksonville

Lejeune had to kick off their season on the road on Tuesday, but they showed no ill effects. They blew past the Northside - Jacksonville Monarchs 23-0. The Devil Pups haven't had any issues with the Monarchs recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Molly McSorley was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-low in earned runs (zero). She was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring four runs and stealing Two bases. while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in March of 2024.

In other batting news, Lejeune got a massive performance out of Kendall Taylor, who scored three runs and stole Five bases. while going 2-for-3. Those five stolen bases gave Taylor a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Mollie Hennigan, who scored three runs and stole Three bases. while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.

Lejeune has already played their next contest, a 9-7 victory against Liberty Christian Academy on the 27th. As for Northside - Jacksonville, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 30-20 defeat against Jones on the 26th.
