Given the Bulldogs' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 76th, while the Patriots are ranked 589th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Summer Creek's victory bumped their record up to 18-11. As for Goose Creek Memorial, they have also been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last nine matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 12-18 record this season.
