Baseball Recap: Goldsboro Comes Up Short

Goldsboro lost against American Leadership Academy-Johnston back in March of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Cougars came up short against the Patriots, falling 8-1. The Cougars have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Goldsboro saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Avery Grant, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one double.

Goldsboro's defeat dropped their record down to 6-13. As for American Leadership Academy-Johnston, they pushed their record up to 13-7 with the win, which was their third straight at home.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Patriots beat Goldsboro by a score of 8-1 later that day.
