Softball Recap: Elgin Comes Up Short

Elgin was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss dating back to last season. They came up short against the West Aurora Blackhawks, falling 18-0. The Maroons were not able to make up for their defeat to the Blackhawks from their previous meeting back in May of 2025.

Elgin's loss dropped their record down to 0-6. As for West Aurora, their victory ended a five-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 5-7.

Elgin has already played their next contest, a 12-1 defeat against Wheeling on the 17th. As for West Aurora, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, an 11-2 loss against Normal University on the 17th.
