Basketball Game Preview: Custer/Hysham vs. Reed Point/Rapelje Renegades

Custer/Hysham will be defending their home court for the first time this season when they go up against the Reed Point/Rapelje Renegades at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Two weeks ago, Custer/Hysham didn't have quite enough to beat Roberts and fell 58-55. Custer/Hysham has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Reed Point/Rapelje was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Friday as they fell 54-48 to Fromberg. The Renegades haven't had much luck with the Falcons recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.

Despite the loss, Reed Point/Rapelje saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Marshall Ulmer dropped a double-double on 17 points and 15 boards. With that strong performance, Ulmer is now averaging an impressive 8.7 rebounds per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Landen Bryant, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 14 rebounds.

Custer/Hysham now has a losing record at 2-3. As for Reed Point/Rapelje, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-5.

Custer/Hysham didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Reed Point/Rapelje when the teams last played back in December of 2024, but they still walked away with a 50-44 victory. Does Custer/Hysham have another victory up their sleeve, or will Reed Point/Rapelje turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
