Basketball Game Preview: Austin Maroons vs. Westlake Chaparrals

Austin is 0-10 against Westlake since January of 2020 but things could change on Friday. The Austin Maroons will head out to take on the Westlake Chaparrals at 7:30 p.m.

Austin is headed into the contest having just suffered their closest loss since February 9th on Tuesday. They fell just short of St. Stephen's Episcopal by a score of 48-45. The Maroons have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Westlake was able to grind out a solid win over Cypress Falls on Saturday, taking the game 59-50.

Westlake is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.0 points per game. As for Austin, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-10.

Austin ended up a good deal behind Westlake when the teams last played back in January, losing 54-38. Can Austin avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
