Albany is a perfect 5-0 against Anson since September of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Lions will take on the Tigers at 7:00 p.m. Albany is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 30.8 points per game this season.

Albany easily dispatched Seymour two weeks ago, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. The Lions fell just short of Coahoma by a score of 15-12 on Friday. Having soared to a lofty 69 points in the game before, the Lions couldn't push the score so high this time.

Although Albany took the loss, they still got scores from Breylon Billington and Bennett Neece.

Don't try to pin the team's loss on the defense: they kept the trenches locked down and allowed a mere 2.7 yards per carry. The team can thank Jaxson Street for the heroic effort on defense: he. Albany hasn't allowed more than 4.1 yards per carry every time they've taken the field this season.

Albany's defense didn't let Austin Joslin., get away unscathed either: they got into the backfield for four sacks. In that department, Shawn Keen was the leader with three sacks.

Meanwhile, Anson put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They enjoyed a cozy 26-8 win over Haskell.

Anson's victory bumped their record up to 4-0. As for Albany, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 3-1.

Albany beat Anson 27-17 in their previous matchup back in September of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Lions since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
