Baseball Recap: Northeastern Has No Trouble Against Union County

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Northeastern). They put the hurt on the Union County Patriots with a sharp 13-6 victory on Thursday. The win continues a trend for the Knights in their matchups with the Patriots: they've now won five in a row.

Northeastern saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Logan White, who went 4-for-5 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Another was Riley Isaacs, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Northeastern kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in April of 2024.

Northeastern's record is now 4-1. As for Union County, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-4 record this season.

Northeastern will welcome Knightstown at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Panthers will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something the Knights surely won't give up without a fight. As for Union County, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 3-2 defeat against Franklin County on the 19th.
