Meridian waltzed into their matchup  on Thursday with six straight wins... but they left with seven. They came out on top against the Warrensburg-Latham Cardinals by a score of  8-4. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Hawks also won the last time the pair played  back in April of 2024.
 Ashley Schelling made a splash while hitting and pitching. She  tossed seven innings while giving up  three earned  (and one unearned) runs off   nine  hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't  tossed less than five  strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box,  going 2-for-3 with one  home run and three  RBI.
 In other batting news,  the team  relied heavily on  Shelby Renfro, who  scored a  run and  stole a base while going 2-for-4. Another player making a difference was  Madi Kapchinske, who  scored a  run and  stole a base while going 2-for-4.
 Meridian  kept the outfield on their toes and  finished the game with 14  hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now  got at least nine  hits in seven consecutive  contests.
