Baseball Recap: Jonesboro Comes Up Short

If Jonesboro was riding high fresh off their 15-0 takedown of Little Rock Southwest last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Jonesboro Hurricane took a 6-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Cabot Panthers on Thursday. The Hurricane have struggled against the Panthers recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost meetings.

Jonesboro's loss dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Cabot, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-2 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Jonesboro will venture away from home to face off against Nettleton at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Jonesboro's pitching crew has only allowed 3.3 runs per game this season, so Nettleton's hitters will have their work cut out for them. Cabot will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Conway at 5:00 p.m. on April 1st.
