Volleyball Game Preview: Wethersfield Flying Geese vs. Elmwood Trojans

The Wethersfield Flying Geese are taking a road trip to face off against the Elmwood Trojans at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.

Wethersfield is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Monmouth United just ended the team's four-match winning streak on Wednesday. They fell 2-0 to the Red Storm.

Wethersfield was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the second set very close. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 27-25.

Meanwhile, Elmwood beat Farmington 2-0 on Tuesday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Trojans.

Elmwood easily took the first set, but they let things get interesting in the other. The match finished with set scores of 25-10, 25-18.

Wethersfield's defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 10-1 and their overall record down to 27-6. As for Elmwood, their victory bumped their record up to 22-10.

Wethersfield came up short against Elmwood when the teams last played back in August, falling 2-0. Can the Flying Geese avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
