Softball Recap: Maranatha Comes Up Short

Maranatha was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 16th straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 16-6 to the Polytechnic Panthers. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Minutemen of the 10-1 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in February of 2024.

Maranatha's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Polytechnic, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Looking ahead, Maranatha will venture away from home to challenge Pasadena at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. Pasadena has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 20.67 runs per game on average), something Maranatha will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Polytechnic, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Rio Hondo Prep at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. Rio Hondo Prep knows how to get runs on the board -- the team has finished with ten runs or more in their past three games -- so hopefully Polytechnic likes a good challenge.
