Recap: Sierra Vista Mountain Lions vs. Cimarron-Memorial Spartans
The Sierra Vista Mountain Lions scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Cimarron-Memorial 69-67. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Sierra Vista found their leader in underclassman Taylor Lane, who scored 20 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Lane has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Arlene Olivraes, who scored 12 points.
Sierra Vista has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season. As for Cimarron-Memorial, their defeat ended a ten-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 11-4.
Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Green Valley the next time they take the court. Cimarron-Memorial will head out to face Green Valley at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, while Sierra Vista will head out to face them at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
