Softball Game Preview: Laurens Raiders vs. Southside Tigers

For the first time this season, Laurens will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup on Thursday. They will look to defend their home field against the Southside Tigers at 5:30 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Laurens lost 19-6 to Woodruff on Tuesday. The Raiders have struggled against the Wolverines recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meetings.

Addison Trevino made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and fired off two home runs and four RBI while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Carly Edwards, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Southside's loss dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Laurens, they now have a losing record of 2-3.

Southside's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Laurens hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .457.
